In Honor Of Rishi Dayanand.

Dhanya hai tujhko ai Rishi, too ne hame bachaa liyaa
so so ke lut rahe the ham, too ne hame jagaa diyaa
We thank you, O Rishi Dayanand, for having saved us, We were asleep in the slumber of ignorace, and you awakened us.

Andho ko aakhe mil gaye, murdo me jaan aa gayee
jaadoo saa kyaa chalaa diyaa, amrit saa kyaa pilaa diyaa
With your coming, the blind can see again, and the dead have had a new life.
The magic you have worked is unfathomable, and the nectar you have shared is indescribable.

Tum me kuchh aisee baat thee, swaamee ki teree baat par
kitne shaheed hogaye, kitno ne sar kataa diyaa
O Maharishi! What was your power that caused so many people to sacrifice their lives for the cause of humanity?

Shradhhaa se Shradhaanand ne, seene pe khaayee goliyaa
has has ke Hansraaj ne, tan man we dhan lutaa diyaa
Your disciples Shraddhaanand and hansraaj, Lekhraam and Laajpat Rai shall be remembered for many an age.
Motivated by you, Shradhaanand faced many bullets with faith, and Hansraaj smilingly sacrificed his all in the cause of Education.

Apne lahu se Lekhraam, tere kahaani likh gaye
tu ne hi Laalaa Laajpat, shere babbar banaa diyaa
Lekhram gave his blood to write your immortal story, and Laajpat Rai became a lion for national cause.

Tere deewaane jis gharee, dakhin dishaa ko chal diye
hairat nizaam reh gayaa, duniyaa kaa dil hilaa diya
When you disciples had gone to Hyderbad, in South India, to struggle for justice, the Nizam-Ruler of that city, was astonished to see their collective strenght. Your disciples forcefully shook the foundation of the Nizam's political establishment.
