The 16th Arya Maha Sammaelan, hosted by Arya Samaj Greater Houston, shall be held in Houston from July 13th to July 16th. The follwing information can be found on their website: (see below)
Mission
Seek and establish a road map for achieving our motto of “Making the World Noble” by nurturing and empowering our next generation with Vedic values.
Objectives
One of the critical challenges of our generation, from India, living in the western world, is to find ways to transfer our Vedic values and heritage to our children, who were either born and/or raised here as well as to the future generations that are yet to come. Hence the objectives of this Maha Sammelan are to:
- Get our next generation engaged in understanding and adopting the Vedic values in their lives.
- Define how Arya Samaj can offer a platform for facilitating this value transfer.
Goals
Derived from the Mission and Objectives stated above, this Maha Sammelan’s goals are:
- Have an open, honest and healthy discussion of where we are with respect to passing on the Vedic values to our next generation.
- Understand and address our children’s concerns and issues of growing up in the western world.
- Identify areas where we can achieve the above objectives starting with some simple “wins”.
- Develop a road map and list of specific action items to “make it happen”.
